As a child what did you want to do when you grew up?
I was one of them kids who wanted to be everything I thought was interesting, I am still that way now. If I take an interest to something I want to know all about it and give it my best shot. I have always liked being creative and giving to others. I think that’s why now outside of work I do my Artificial Flowers, I love being creative and making people smile.
What is your professional background and what drew you to working for AB Scientific?
I have always pretty much worked in Sales/Admin roles, Dealing with customers processing of orders and getting them shipped/delivered. When I seen the role advertised, I just felt like I already knew quite a lot about what was going to be needed to work here. I had used similar processes and databases so had some knowledge of what would be needed to fulfil the role. I also looked on the company website to try and understand a bit more about what AB Scientific did and I was really interested in it, all the products that was being provided and finding out a little more on my induction about the products quicker testing times etc and what they can do was really interesting to me.
How would your colleagues describe you? (You can guess or ask them!)
I recently had my 3-month review and I was really happy with the comments from my manager & Director. They told me they are really happy with my progress, and my contribution to the team has been valuable during one of the busiest periods. To be told I have a great attitude and willingness to get involved with everything was really nice.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
My 2 fur babies! I have 2 Cocker Spaniels Kobi & Khai. They are nuts and keep me on my toes throughout the day! We love booking breaks away in the Lake District and taking them for adventures. I am also an Artificial Florist so outside of work I make, Artificial bouquets, hanging baskets, wedding flowers, funeral flowers and lots more. It keeps my mind busy. I have a partner with mental health who I care for so keeping my mind busy and doing something I love outside of work really helps me.
How has AB Scientific allowed you to grow and develop professionally and personally, and what do you like best about your role here?
AB Scientific has really given me my confidence back, previous places I had worked never felt trusted to get on with my work. Here, I am left to get on with my work and I will always ask for help if I need it. The team is brilliant they are all so helpful and it’s a nice, relaxed environment to also have a bit of a laugh. I think that’s important in your work life to have good relationships with your team and feel comfortable to have a nice chat about everyday life stuff & struggles whilst still getting the work done. AB Scientific has really given me the perfect work/home life balance and I am so glad I got my position with the company.
