Employee Spotlight February: Abbie Jones

Abbie Jones is based in Wales and travels across the country in her role as Account Manager for AB Molecular,   as well as supporting the service team.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a vet as I love animals!

What is your professional background and what drew you to working for AB Molecular?

I originally studied law at university. I spent my early professional career working in the legal sector alongside barristers, preparing them for court and running their busy diaries. AB Molecular’s involvement in the world of healthcare and medical equipment and particularly the field of molecular diagnostics appealed to my passion for account management and learning new things.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Bubbly, positive, warm hearted, enthusiastic, honest, approachable, and optimistic. An analytical thinker with a drive for success.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Alongside being a mum to my two cute cats, I love keeping fit and active. I am a keen netball player and I also really enjoy spin classes. 

How has AB Molecular allowed you to grow and develop professionally and personally and what do you like best about your role here?

By handing me a key account within the business (Public Health Wales), AB Molecular has allowed me to progress as an account manager. They also provided me with the further training that has expanded my role to support the service team. I have benefited from meeting and building valued relationships with some amazing roles within the sector and gained valuable insight into the world of microbiology, biomedical science, and the lab environment. Everyday, I learn something new. For me personally, this continual learning and personal development while getting stuck in and hands on in different parts of the business is something I am really proud of
